Lee Hsien Yang has congratulated Dr Tan Cheng Bock on the formation of the Progress Singapore Party.
Commenting on Facebook, the brother of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that “Cheng Bock is the leader Singapore deserves”.
“I have known Cheng Bock for many years and he has consistently put the interests of the people first. We are fortunate that he has stepped forward to serve Singapore.
I only recently learned that Cheng Bock had his first clinic at Ama Keng at the far end of Lim Chu Kang Road, a remote and poor area. I didn’t know it at the time, but this was very close to where I used to serve as a young armour officer at Sungei Gedong.”
Mr Lee, who is currently locked in the bitter Lee Family Feud with PM Lee, was recently photographed having breakfast with Dr Tan, sparking speculation that he might enter the political fray.
He has also donated money to help socio-political activist Leong Sze Hian, who is being sued by PM Lee, with his legal fees.
