He said that things “haven’t gone well at all” for Aljunied residents and that’s why the PAP has sent a “good team here, to contest in Aljunied, to convince and persuade you, that PAP is the right choice.”
Mr Lee criticised the incumbent Workers’ Party MPs for Aljunied, saying that it didn’t take long to “demolish” a constituency that was in “good working order” before they took over in 2011.
He urged Aljunied residents to vote for the PAP candidates, whom he described as “better” than the current team in Aljunied, so they can put things right – not just for the constituency, but Singapore on the whole.
“You are voting for the team which will look after the town council. You are also voting for the team which will look after the government.”
Victor Lye is leading the PAP’s charge for Aljunied GRC, together with running-mates Yeo Guat Kwang, Shamsul Kamar, K. Muralidharan Pillai and Chua Eng Leong.
They’re up against the WP’s A-Team of Chen Show Mao, Faisal Manap, Pritam Singh, Sylvia Lim and Low Thia Khiang.
