Two Ministers in Jeyaretnam’s Gunsights, as He Renews RP’s West Coast Charge!

Reform Party Secretary-General Kenneth Jeyaretnam will lead the party’s challenge for West Coast GRC.

He’s hoping to better his score of 33.34 percent of the vote in West Coast in the 2011 General Election.

On his team this time- RP chairman Andy Zhu, real estate firm manager Darren Soh, and customer service executive Noraini Yunus.

Mr Soh is a long-time PAP grassroots member and has served for 20 years.

He last held the position of Assistant Treasurer at The Grassroots Club.

Ms Noraini is a former member of National Solidarity Party member and had contest in Jurong GRC in the 2011 General Election.

She had last joined the Democratic Progressive Party, but resigned two days ago when parliament was dissolved to join the RP.

She hopes to champion issues of mental health if elected in Parliament, as her brother is being treated for schizophrenia in the Institute of Mental Health

The RP team will be pitted against the PAP lineup of Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office S Iswaran, NTUC Assistant Secretary General Patrick Tay and Ms Foo Mee Har.

The RP has also unveiled Kumar Appavoo as its candidate for Radin Mas SMC.

The oil and gas company director was one of the team to contest in West Coast GRC in the 2011 General election.

He will come up against the PAP’s Sam Tan.
