BEWARE: S$5600 Down the Drain on “Easy Money” Internet Marketing Courses

redwire-singapore-internet-marketing-man
A 36-year-old male sales executive shares his experience on how he dropped S$5600 on internet marketing courses in the hope that he would be able to make a quick buck, but was left sorely disappointed.

He wants to warn readers about such schemes so that unlike him, they won’t part so easily with their hard-earned money:

Dear Readers,

I am sure you all have seen countless self-claimed ” INTERNET MARKETING GURUS” trying to tell you how easy it is to own an internet business/do internet marketing  and how you need to spend so little time on it such that the whole thing is automated and you just sit there and watch money roll in.

There are many such ads on facebook and they get blasted into our emails too.

I would like to share my negative experience and honest review having attended one and paid MORE than $5,600 in all. I hope people will not waste their money like I did.

1: How I got to know this internet marketing course preview?

I got to see this person’s advertisement on Facebook and decided to attend the preview. (Let’s call him X) The advertisement was very impressive looking and had lots of people smiling and posing in pictures with him.

2: What happened during the internet marketing course preview?

During the preview, X showed the audience how much money he has made using the power of internet. Nothing was really verified by an independent 3rd party and the audience did not ask for evidence.  X presented as though money will keep on coming in through internet marketing.
During the seminar, X asked us to buy handouts to see what is included in the course. I was quite shocked. I though such basic handouts are free but I paid anyway.

X then told the audience the following
– “NO TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED”
– “NO START UP COST NEEDED”
– “IT IS A FULLY DONE FOR YOU SYSTEM”

I thought it was true so I signed up.

However, during the course which I paid to attend, this was what I found out

– “NO TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED”
Not true. A lot of technical knowledge is involved. It was left to us to come up with our own website.

– “NO START UP COST NEEDED”
Not true. Not only do we have to pay for the cost of hosting, there are A LOT of hidden costs that were not mentioned during the preview.

– “IT IS A FULLY DONE FOR YOU SYSTEM”
Not true. There is no such thing as FULLY DONE FOR YOU, because there are still a lot of things to be done. The so-call FULLY DONE promised and delivered was probably at most 5% of the whole system.

3: How did X get people to sign up?

After the preview ended, X  told the attendees (including myself) to sign up by saying that there is limited seats left and X will keep counting down the number of seats left.

I later found out it was not true. Because even after the preview, there are still people signing up for the course!!!
Unfortunately I too succumbed to the pressure and signed up, believing what was promised in the preview
What happened during the 2-day Internet Marketing course? What was taught? (I paid more than $1.8K for this 1st course)

Day 1

Basically I only learnt how to create advertisement using Facebook which took X 8 HOURS to teach!

I already know how to create Facebook Ads. It is easy and anyone can do it within an hour max.

X didn’t teach us how to sell on internet as promised but how to market his course. This is definitely not what I had paid to learn! I wanted to learn how to market my own products, not X’s course. And not just on Facebook, but on different platforms.

When we market X’s course on internet, a very attractive referral fee will be paid. So in the end we were just trained to sell his course. The amount of money one needs to spend on the internet ads might not be recovered if you don’t get a converted lead.

I wasted 8 hrs. Just like that.

Day 2

X taught how to do affiliate marketing. However, I soon realized that the cost involved to do the affiliate marketing is easily more than you can earn.

For example, one has to spend extra money to buy email list, facebook ad etc which can easily go up to more than $1k without getting a single sale. It’s not as if there are no extra costs involved. I wish I was told earlier during the preview instead of finding it out only much later during the course.

Just before X end the course, X tried to upsell another course(2ND COURSE) to us! Using the same method, counting down the number of seats left, to make the attendees make a fast decision.

X told us, “Today will be the last day that you can buy this course at $XXXX dollars”, tomorrow will be double. But UNTIL TODAY, THE COURSE FEE IS STILL THE SAME!

A LOT OF PROMISE but DELIVERY a LETDOWN! (I paid more than 3.8K for this 2nd Course)

I was so naïve to think that the 2nd course will be better, so I signed up for it.

During the 2nd course, X promised us a series of modules that we will be going though together. But nobody knew that in actual fact, only 2 modules are conducted as a live training!

The rest of the modules are basically delivered to us via downloadable videos, telling us to learn on our own. In other words, they used old training videos and told us to learn on our own.

And in a nutshell, this is how they delivered their training which I spent MORE THAN $5,600 in total.

I know that many netizens will comment that I was silly for paying so much for attending the course. But I know if I keep quiet and not share my experience, more people will lose their hard earned money like me. So I shall not keep quiet like the rest even though I know I’ll be ridiculed. I have decided to speak out so others can learn from my negative experience.

Be careful of these overhyped seminars full of promises and claims and boast how easy it is to make money. I should have left my wallet at home like a friend advised me. But it’s a lesson learnt that I will never  forget.

All in all, I wasted my time and money.

Don’t repeat my mistake. I did not name X as I’m already down by MORE THAN $5,600 and cannot afford a legal suit if X and team sue me to shut me up. I’m just one voice but if my sharing prevents just one person from losing his hard earned money, it would be good enough.

    To the writer.

It isn’t illegal for you to voice your opinion and review on the program.

You can still share on which program, who is/are the trainers, and there isn’t anything which they can do about it.

Legally, you should know your rights too.

    1) As long as you present FACTS, and write objectively (not personally), you are safe. In this case, the program names, trainers’ name, dates, venue, learning outcome.

    2) Even if the trainers do come after with you a Legal Letter of Demand, NOTE that, you can simply IGNORE the letter.
Legal Letter of Demand are generally ‘threats” to frighten people who are not legally trained.
And it is good to receive LOD because you then know what the other party is coming at you for, his/her demands, and so, you know how to better prepare for the case, if any….note, if any. Usually, LOD ends up just being Letters after Letters.
YES, you can receive dozens of Letter of Demands without needing to do anything about it.

UNTIL, the other party submits it to court as a WRIT. Which in your case wouldn’t happen, because there is also a 50/50 chance they will lose and pay your COSTS.

REMEMBER this, as long as you have don’t nothing wrong (which is your case, you have not), do what you must in your conscience.

    Hope this helps.

    LEGAL by AMOS.

    Hello, writer:
Yes, there are a lot of scams out there. I can tell you first hand. If you like,I would be more than happy to sit down and tell you how to build and market just about anything you may want on the internet. It’s not easy, there are many considerations. But I am there making a modest profit. Contact me in English.

Yes, it’s easypreneur by Imran. I don’t get how this guy can get a good night sleep scamming people’s hard earned money. His recent declaration on Facebook about his BIG plans in 2016 makes me shudder, wondering how many more unknowing people will fall into the same trap throwing away thousands of dollars without learning a genuine skill as promised. You can see the proliferation of ‘online entrepreneur lifestyle/system’ ads on Facebook thanks to this elaborate ‘pay me to learn how to help me fool more people to pay me’ scheme as described by the writer. I’m thankful for writer to actually ‘step out’ to share his experience as he rightfully pointed out, this ‘guru’ gets his way as nobody dares to expose him for unfound reasons. I hereby urge more ‘victims’ to share their experiences as I can consolidate all these reviews and build a website to share them for better good of our society and consumer rights. Fair to say I have a set of skills dangerous enough to let people see the truth when they Google his name or courses. But for this to happen, I hope more people can provide their stories like the writer did. Cheers.

This is as close to a Ponzi scheme as it gets. Participants pay to learn how to sell for Imran, so as to recover their course fees.

It is like someone asked you to lend him $5000, and you are supposed to ask 5 other person to lend you $5000, of which you will be compensated for $1000 for each person that did so to recover your money.

The amount on the cheques in the pictures represent the number of people they have scammed to get that.

I’ve attended the course conducted by this trainer and have worked with him on a personal level, and I can credit him with helping me take my life and business to the 6-figure level

I’m not too sure how the original poster didn’t manage to get anything out of his course but all I can say is: success is dependent on the student; the proverbial saying that you can lead a horse to water but it’s up to the horse to drink from it. The templates that he gives are very helpful and the course materials are very well thought out.

My suggestion to anyone who’s taking this course is to go with an open mind, be an eager learner and take action. Don’t think that you are beyond the basics like setting up facebook ads- as someone who’s gone for many of such courses and consult for 7 and 8-figure businesses, I still go to him for advice.

(And yes, when I take other FB marketing courses I observe how the trainer sets up his ads)

But i digress; this trainer is one of the most genuine and sincere person I’ve met, and I can personally attest to him helping at least 2 others succeed. That’s why I’m willing to stick my neck out for this guy.

If you’re in doubt, you’re welcome to contact me via PM here:

Went to his wave3 course and will suggest no one sign up for his course..

He promised that it is easy to make money without using a lot of money as he will be sharing with us his proven strategy.

His proven strategy however requires a hell lot of money to purchase solo ads and buy ads to drive traffic to a online website funnel where you hope those traffic purchase your affiliate items.

His after sales support is close to non existent.. before sales.. promise mentorship, promise copywriting skill, promise it is a walk in the park..

During the course, not once touch the notes he gave (he must know it is useless information but just print it anyways). His teachings are all over the place.. asked one of the participants to leave because if he couldn’t keep up, this course is not for him.. by the way the course is conducted by imran and another guy Johan. Both are very good with their words however bad at delivery.

As for easypreneur, well this course is just a hoax course for imran to build his database while using his students to sell the course for him.. once he have enough.. the commissions will drop for sure.

Overall, I will say share this article all over social media and let everyone know about him. Anyways, he is expanding to Malaysia because people in Singapore are learning more about this Imran hit and run scammed.

    February 4, 2016 at 11:11 am

Personally, I think there are always 2 sides to a coin. To quote from this article,”in the hope of making a quick buck”, this alleged victim is obviously a gambler in search of overnight riches. To the best of my knowledge, there is a clear distinction between running a Internet business versus roulette or 4d. There are skills to be mastered, and action to be implemented, both of which were conveniently omitted from the article. There is no such thing as a quick buck or magic money pill. Caveat emptor to the boy crying wolf here.

  29. Aiden

    February 5, 2016 at 9:48 pm

You’re missing the crux of this matter. As mentioned by other commenters who shared in here their experience with Imran’s courses, the problem lies in him not delivering the promise he makes during his sales pitch. And false statement or promise made by the seller constitutes misreprentation.
Nobody disagrees with your notion that it takes skills and actions to be successful. That is precisely why his students pay him 4 figures amount to acquire the supposed ‘useful’ skills that he promised to impart and will enable them to create a business and make money. Apparently, that ‘promise’ is not kept – useless notes, un-structured training, zero support, non-existent mentorship – all pointing to under-delivered and underwhelming experience which certainly doesn’t deserve the huge sum they are asking for.
Further to this, the easypreneur course is in fact a elaborately disguised MLM scheme if you think about it. Students (downline) pays you money to learn how to bring you more downline, and the cycle continues while imran laughs his way to the bank. It’s worse in ethical sense than conventional MLM in my opinion as his students does not keep lifetime value of their acquisition effort (i.e. Imran build the database while his students risks their advertising costs and all they get is a one time commission). Is this what you call a long term business?
If any further evidence is required, simply look at who his accomplice is. The man is Johan Mok. I was quite intrigued when Imran seems to burst into the local IM scene out of nowhere. It was only in a recent video on Imran’s FB that I caught a glimpse of his ‘partner in crime’ in the background. Light bulb in my head went off and the dots are connected! So this Johan Mok who knows he can’t make a living with his rotten reputation anymore is now hiding and operating behind the frontman of Imran! (If you’re interested, just google his name and you’ll find his name associated with scam and terrible reviews). He’s gone silent after negative outcry and this is his new operation mode. Need I go on? One commenter above had already mention he’s one of the trainers.
To end this off, I’d just say please stay clear of these 2 guys. If you want to learn what his students squandered thousands to ‘learn’, just visit Facebook resources for ad campaigns. Best part? It’s FREE! There’s really no secret. Find a good product, learn to advertise via FB, collect leads emails and you build a lifetime asset by owning this list of customers. All the best!

Imran here- (but there are so many Imran imposters here that it’s becoming impossible to verify)

    1) Aiden you mentioned that there is non existing support. In a verifiable environment I’d invite you over persoanlly to see the number of support tickets logged and answered to on a daily basis.

    2) Since moving into new office, there has been 3 review sessions in 2 weeks. There are also weekly review sessions alresdy offered to all attendees. I’m not sure if you attended any of these.

    3) I’ll also invite you the members area where you will see all qns asked were answered. My intention is to help people who want to help themselves.

    4) the skills in copywrtikng and FB advertising has helped many of my students to succeed online and offline. Again, you are welcome
To verify my claims by visiting me in the office and see unsolicited testimonaials of lives changed.

    5) you make claims that this is MLM. Publicly, I’m cLling you out for your identity so that we an verify legally if this is indeed an MLM or not.
This is a RESELLER program, not an MLM. I’m willing to defend this in court- don’t be too quick to publicly state your opinions as facts.

    6) all students are aware what they sign up for under easypreneur a) their own kickstart funnel done for them b) traiining c) sales closed for them d) review sessions e) reseller program as a bonus (no mandatory)

I have hundreds of success stories and I’m going to post them up this month.

In school, there are students who are A students, and some are EM3, some dropout. Yet they have the same teachers, same school, same syllabus. Why?

There are ingredients needed to succeed beyond what the teacher can provide alone.

If you need help, write in, ask for help, submit support requests. I can show you our logged requests.

But we are here to help.

Are you so low until you have to tell lies? Before you blame your students, blame yourself first. Why are there so many students of yours not making money? Is it you are a lousy teacher? In a same school, same syllabus, those taught by you, majority failed. Some pass because you fake them so that you can sell your course. If your system is so good, why do you need to fake? To the person whose username is “Allah” ( strange by the way that you would only dare to use multiple fake names to comment)

You say that in the group, I didn’t answer the qns.

If you say you are right, come on out publicly and show which qns on the group remain unanswered.

Every qn that I was aware of, and can answer, have been answered. Unless it was a technical qn, which is to be submitted via email to the technical team.

And also, i NEVER once said said that my students are lousy.

That was posted above by the FAKE Imran md ali name, which I have reported to the cantonment police station on 3rd February.

Also the comment made by my “wife” under “Mindalisa” is also fake.

Feel free to verify any of these comments above directly with me via FB.

It is easy to hide behind these names, but so far, invitations to come verify these claims has fallen on deaf ears.

State the facts, under real names.

You have nothing to be afraid of, if you’re confident of what you speak of.

Strange that you were a mouse face to face, meek and hiding.

Behind a keyboard, a very different person.

And to use names such as “Allah”, “terrorist wanted”, “malay guy” “Babi”, “pig” etc shows you to be the true person that you are.

And that’s the reason why you cannot reveal yourself in public.

Cute-momo, by your definition, anyone who teaches a course or education which is available on the Internet is a scammer?

So we should go out there and catch Tony robbins, Brian tracy, Robert kiyosaki, Harv eker and anyone else whose teachings in part or in full are available online?

    What a joke.

The person who paid $5,600 was scammed?

Strange. He said he hated the first course but by the same accord upgraded himself to the second course?

In my world, people only upgrade if they enjoyed the first course. Which can only mean one thing…

Anyway. So many contradictions… All under fake names.

Easy to character assassinate. Easy to hide online under fake aliases.

At least I’m in the open. Whoever you are, I’m sorry you didn’t succeed, and didn’t come forward to ask for further help. Read my posts above. Help is available.

And one more thing to fake name “Allah”

If you say my succesful students success stories are fake, are you willing to state that as a fact under your real identity?

Because I can guarantee I’ll be having a great day showing you otherwise legally.

    Cannot substantiate, don’t say.

Don’t need to hide behind fake names.

This scammer really shameless, comparing him to the like of ” Tony robbins, Brian tracy, Robert kiyosaki, Harv eker”. Seriously? You are not even in the self-help domain, but in that of Bernie Madoff.

Imran ahh Imran why do you have to keep harping on asking people to provide names. Please do not divert attention away from the fact that you are a scammer.

If your program is so good why are there so many hate comments? But it’s okay, every Friday just repent and then start cheating every Saturday again.

    Imran Ali Scam Singapore
Ezyprenear is a course which sells Imran Ali’s course for a fee of $2000 which means you are buying the ‘license’ to resell his course. Then after there is a commission of 1000 per course you sold.

As for wave 3, it is relatively new in Singapore so I cannot comment much on it.. what I can say is you can join if you want to test it out.

Overall if you read all of the comments of everyone here including Mr Imran Ali ”s comment, I am sure you can make up your mind if this is the kind of person you want to understudy with. The kind of person who is defensive and brings up the law suit to bang you down.

You make up your mind and decide on your own. And for Imran Ali, please do not come back with another account and claim every single Imran Ali’s above are fake. We have enough of that stuff.

    Thank you

Hi Imran, you state that “I have hundreds of success stories and I’m going to post them up this month”. I been tracking your Facebook (both of them) but I didn’t see any.

Saw your advertisements on Facebook but you are still showing your students who made money by referring more students to your course.

Is anyone actually making money online from your course?

Please do not show students taking easypreneur cheques as we all know the money is from you instead of making money online.

Why your own student say this? why?
you shd know Colin Seow, go and join him and see how he support his students.
i dare to say, alot of his students give him a very good comment and feedback. why? because he is good and people can feel that he is sincere!
But for you??? NO WAY!….there are reasons why people complaint you, not just come out from nothing.
dont just try to fight back, its time to use your own brain to think why your own students complaint about you and not Colin student complaining about him.
    why? why? why?
if you are good, show us all your good feedback from your students then…
    show us please.

Like I saId, someone like you who is quick to post under fake names and make fake statements think you can get away with it. But the legal implications of you making these fake statements are what you will need to deal with as an adult.

TO Imran Mohd Ali of Easypreneur and other scammy courses, of cos not. DO NOT PUT WORDS IN MY MOUTH. I DO NOT think anyone who teaches a course online is a scammer – only YOU, as apparent from all the negative comments and feedback you have received here and in other places. We are all well aware of what your $5,600 course is all about. Now it’s more obvious.

Don’t ever compare yourself to Tony Robbins, and all the others. You are just a nobody who suddenly pops up from nowhere and wants to capitalise on innocent people and suck money out of them, with no interest to help them at all!

Obviously the person who paid $5,600 was scammed – isn’t it obvious from his reportage? And the many more who will also report you to the police very soon, Imran Mohd Ali.

Search your heart, and say you are genuinely interested in helping people, and not just monetizing them.

First he will sell you an automated system at USD1,497 and lie to you the cost of running it. He will promise you a list of things which most isn’t true or will never be delivered.

He will only teach you how to sell his course as what the writer mentioned. Then he teach you the basic of affiliate marketing and promise you another system if you upgrade – USD2,997. He will tell you he will do the whole system for you for free and you can make $40k in 6 months if you follow his instructions. BUT he didn’t tell you how much you must spend in those 6 months. And end of the day, you will quit spending and he win. This is how a scammer work.
