ADELINE YEE: My girls n hubby had late football cafe n ended abt 3.30am. My girl booked a grab but after accepting, the driver texted my daughter n infd her to wait for 1 to 2 hours ,citing that his car is spoilt ,waiting for mechanic. My girl then asked him why he had accepted the booking when his car has broken down. It is ridiculous to wait 1-2hours in the wee hours of the morning! My girl told him to cancel, he texted hp no battery and bye! My girl left with no choice, cancelled and called grab .
Meanwhile, my hubby made another booking with his hp,his own acc. This is the best part, the same driver accepted the booking, sent the same ‘car broken down’ msg ,and told my hubby to cancel on his side. My hubby texted him back, the driver knowing that he was dealing with a guy, cancelled the booking immediately.
With two unsuccessful attempts in getting a ride home, my eldest girl,without any promo, made a third booking. To their astonishment, the same driver accepted the booking, pulled the same trick again with the same msg. Within seconds, he.cancelled again ,guess he had finally realised that the bookings were from same pickup to the same address after all.
This is the first time we had met with such a driver, surprisingly 5-star rated. Hope that Grab will look into this.
