15 PAP Town Councils to Further Raise S&CC Come June

The 15 town councils run by the PAP will further raise service and conservancy charges on 1 June.

HDB-dwellers will see their S&CC increase by between 50 cents to S$8 per month.

This is the second round of S&CC increases, following the increase on 1 June last year.

Then, HDB-dwellers had to pay between 50 cents and S$ 9 more per month for S&CC.

Market stallholders and hawkers will also see fees go up on 1 June by an extra S$2.50 to S$17.50 per month.

This is on top of the extra S$2.70 to S$23.00 per month increase on 1 June 2017.

Last year, the government announced the 2-round increase to S&CC for all PAP-run town councils, explaining that the price hike is necessary to keep up with the rising costs of maintaining housing estates.

The Workers’ Party has yet to announce any S&CC hike for its town councils.
