Madam Yeo Choon Tee was taking the lift downstairs when she got embroiled in this horror encounter.

The 59-year-old was going to pick up her granddaughter at about noon on Tuesday (7 Jun).

When she got to the ground floor, the lift doors didn’t open.

Instead, the lift shot up at a “faster than normal” speed to the 11th floor.

It then dropped all the way to the third floor and zoomed up again, stopping between the 12th and 13th floors.

The incident took place at Block 150 Petir Rd.

It was about 30 minutes before Mdm Yeo was rescued.

She was hospitalized with a fractured spine.

This is the 5th lift malfunction in 8 months now.

The latest lift fatality was an elderly man who was killed when he backed his mobility scooter out of a lift that had stopped about 15cm above ground when the lift doors opened at the ground floor.
