Amidst the fanfare of the Brazil football team’s arrival in Singapore, no-nonsense Brazil coach Dunga took a shot at the state of the Sports Hub pitch.

After the team’s first training session, Dunga said, “The field here is not very good. Most of it is sand and not grass. It is hard to pass the ball. There is more chance of getting injured on this field. As there is a lot of sand, it can create holes in the ground. But I can’t tell now if players will get injured.”

On the game between Brazil and Japan tomorrow (14Oct), Dunga said that Brazil always tries to put up a good show, but the state of the pitch is likely to prevent this. He said that he might consider fielding a team of reserves.
