Two foreign workers have been awarded for their selflessness, when they scaled the gates of a burning house to warn those living inside.

Rengasamy Kabilarasan and Marudapillai Jayavelu were working when they noticed a fire at the second-storey of a bunglow at Sunset place.

They immediately ran over, climbed into the house, alerted the occupants, and help escort them to safety.

The incident took place on 10 Nov at about 5.30pm.

The SCDF recognised that their heroism prevented anyone from dying in the fire.

They’ve been awareded the SCDF Public Spiritedness Award for their efforts.
