Gas prices will increase by 3.78 percent starting from next month.
Households will pay 19.23 cents per kilowatt hour, compared to the existing 18.53 cents.
After GST, one kwh will cost 20.58 cents.
City Gas said in a statement the price hike was due to higher fuel costs.
It said that the price increase for gas tariffs are in line with guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority – a statury board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Gas tariffs from May 1 to July 31 were 18.53 cents per kwh, and were revised upwards from 18.42 cents per kwh in the first quarter of the year.
This latest increase puts further strain on low and middle income families.
It comes after a 30 percent increase in water price, a 6.9 percent hike in electricity prices, 20 percent increase in S&CC and 11 percent rise in rubbish disposal fees.
