Locked Out of Her 7th-Floor Hall Room, NUS Student Falls to Her Death Trying to Enter by Window

A National University of Singapore student fell to her death while trying to enter her residential hall room by the window.

The 18-year-old South Korean had locked herself out of her hall room.

She climbed out of a nearby window and was trying to enter her room through the window when she fell.

The student had reportedly forgotten to bring her matriculation card with her, which is needed to access her room.

The incident took place on Saturday (28 Oct) at about 11.40am, at Block C of Sheares Hall.

The student was unconscious when paramedics arrived, and died from her injuries at the National University Hospital.

According to Sheares Hall’s regulations, students who are locked out of their rooms can approach the hall office during office hours or a resident fellow after office hours for help.

Assistance might incur a service fee.
