MDA Bans Airing of Jolin Tsai’s Lesbian Song and Dance Music Video

“We’re all different, Yet the Same” has been banned in Singapore, reminding us once again that not all music videos are equal in a media universe under Singapore’s Media Development Authority.

Notices have been sent to TV and radio stations, instructing them not to air the latest music video by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai.

Apparently, the lyrics encourage homosexuality and homosexual marriage, which Singapore has consistently refused to accept.

The music video centres on a lesbian couple who have been attached for 30 years, and shows them getting married.

This latest move shows the impartiality of the MDA towards media depicting homosexuality in Singapore.

Whether it’s gay or lesbian happy endings, the treatment is the same – kena ban.
