“Do always stand up for ur right and help our nation as well.”

That’s the response that Hanafie, or “Elfy” has given well-wishers, who praised him for fending off an angry ang moh on the MRT who was verbally abusing a local teen wearing a t-shirt with a vulgar phrase.

He also praised the young lady who caught the incident on camera.

Elfy had become a hero overnight, after this video of him confronting the angry ang moh went viral in Singapore.

The ang moh was incensed at a teen for wearing a t-shirt, that said “I’m F*cking Special” and besides taunting him, threatened to throw him off the train.

The teen stood rooted to the spot, not saying a word and staring straight ahead.

Elfy scolded the ang moh, who despite being bigger in size, cowered and kept his mouth shut.

Both men were asked to step out of the train by police officers at the Ang Mo Kio MRT station platform.

It’s unclear for now whether police will take any action over the incident.

Elfy’s actions have drawn strong praise from netizens.

Many say that it’s good to see Singaporeans standing up for their fellow men, regardless of race, language or religion.

Others criticised others in the train carriage for turning a blind eye to the events.

Mr “I’m F*cking Special” teen was also criticised.

Some say he shouldn’t have worn such a vulgar t-shirt out in public, while others commented that he got the attention he sought by wearing such a shirt, so he should have manned up and defended himself.

The rest of the Singaporean only make comments after someone the the lead. This is what we called chicken syndrome, do it in big numbers or knowing that the victim will not confront you.

Hi Elfy, we love what you have done. We showed your video to some cafes and they have given you a reward. They will be honoured if you would come. Please see http://www.flavadean.com/?p=1900

This is one possible Ang Moh who definitely cannot make a living in own country. Ended in Singapore to ‘haigong’ the locals because of skin colour. These are the trash/outcast from his country. Seen plenty of this category begging by the pavement in white country asking ” can you spare some change”. That is what these guys specialised.
