Ong Teng Cheong’s Son Fined for Beating Red Light and Crashing into Taxi

The son of our late president Ong Teng Cheong has been fined S$800 for beating a red light and colliding with a taxi.

Ong Tze Boon admitted that he broke traffic rules, and didn’t take due care in ensuring the safety of other road users.

The incident happened in April last year at about 6.20pm in the Hoot Kiam Rd vicinity.

48-year-old Ong junior, who’s the chairman of Ong and Ong Architects, also had his licence suspended for 3 months, but he has appealed the sentence.

He is still allowed to drive, pending the result of the appeal.
