Remember this maid, Titin, who was struck with a rare disease which doctors couldn’t diagnose that caused her body to break out in blisters?
While her employer, an elderly Mdm Fang was stuck in a rut as to what she should do, other Singaporeans banded together upon hearing of her maid’s plight and have so far raised over S$14,000 to help with her medical bills.
This was done via a page set up by Jobina Tan on crowdfunding website, Give Asia.
In the page description, Tan said:
“Doctor has advised to send Titin back to Indonesia and she has also requested to be send back home. However, given her currently condition, she can only be send back via SOS plane which will cost up to at least SGD 30,000.00 but before that she has to go for skin operation in SGH which cost around SGD 30,000.00.
I hereby create this crowdfunding to seek help from the public to raise fund for the medical treatment of her rare disease and the cost of her SOS plane back home. “
Mdm Fang has thanked donors for their generosit.
She said that Titin’s condition has improved slightly.
She is now able to utter a few words and her eyes are less swollen.
