Singapore was struck by a power blackout early this morning which affected 146, 797 residents across the island.
Affected areas included Boon Lay, Choa Chu Kang, Clementi, Jurong, Pandan Loop, Aljunied, Geylang, Tanjong Rhu, Mountbatten, Kembangan, Bedok, East Coast, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Thomson, Mandai, Admiralty, Sembawang and Woodlands.
Power company SP Group said that the blackout was due to a “partial loss of supply from two power generator units”.
The Energy Market Authority reported that “electricity supply to several areas was disrupted at 0118 hours and has been fully restored on 18 September at 0156 hours”.
Investigations by both agencies into the blackout are ongoing.
