Roy Ngerng Donation Drive Raises S$20,000 in 4 Days

We reported on Monday that supporters of socio-political activist Roy Ngerng has been urging the public to donate money to help him pay for S$150,000 in damages which he had to pay PM Lee Hsien Loong for defamation.

The week is barely over, and Ngerng has apparently received S$19,655.55 in donations via his bank account and Paypal.

Oh yeah, and his fathers’ chai tow kway stall too.

“My dad sells carrot cake at Block 107 in Ang Mo Kio. A customer of my dad’s went up to him and gave him S$100 to support the fund raising. Thank you for this!”

Ngerng had also urged the public to come to his aid last year, after PM Lee commenced the defamation suit against him.

He managed to raise about S$110,000 in donations.

The lawsuit came after several articles which Ngerng on his blog, The Heart Truths,  in 2014.

Those articles compared the government’s use of CPF monies to way City Harvest church leaders misused church fund.
