Schooling set a time of 51.41 secs, with his boyhood idol Phelps placing second a 51.60 secs timing that left him fourth overall.
Commenting on his qualification to the next round, Schooling said in his usual understated manner:
“It feels like a morning swim. Relaxed, easy.”
Schooling aside, our other local lad Quah Zheng Wen also made the semi-finals, after qualifying 16th with a personal best of 52.08 secs.
