SMRT Track Deaths: Policeman Leaked Police Database Photo of Victims

A police national serviceman has been accused of leaking a photograph showing the body of one of the two victims killed in the SMRT accident earlier this week.

The policeman is believed to have taken a screenshot of the image on a policeman terminal and shared it with his family and friends.

The screenshot shows a close-up of the body of the victim lying on the track, and also revealed the victims’ IC number.

The policeman is being investigated under the Official Secrets Act.

The maximum punishment for wrongful communication of information under the OSA is a two-year jail term and a S$2,000 fine.
