The 31-year-old transvestite who loved dressing in women’s clothes has been jailed for 3 years for stealing credit cards of clients and swiping some S$51,000 worth of purchases.
Those clients include men of various nationalities such as Dutch, French and Australians, and he even stole from his own doctor during a trip to the clinic for hormonal injections.
Nur Alya committed the offences between September 2014 and June 2015.
During that time, he was working as a freelance make-up artist and also a social escort at bars in the Orchard Towers area.
Investigations show that he stole credit cards from customers at these bars and also from those who had engaged his massage services in the hotel rooms.
Nur Alya would then go on spending sprees, and sometimes would sell or pawn the items bought to fund his personal expenses.
He managed to escape arrest because his cross-dressing ways made him difficult to identify, even when police reviewed CCTV footage.
He was finally arrested in June last year, after a surprise raid conducted by the Central Narcotics Bureau.
In all, Nur Alya pleaded guilty to 17 cheating charges, while another 170 cheating and theft charges were taken into account for sentencing.
