The 57-year-old uncle who went missing last Thursday (6 Jul) after saying he was off to pick durians was found this afternoon in a forested area along Jurong Rd.

Low Ah Kay was last seen at Block 498 Jurong West St 41 on Thursday at about 8.30am.

He was dressed in a white shirt, long trousers and yellow boots, and had scooted off on his motorcycle to the forested area to pick durians.

But family and friends got worried when he didn’t return home later the same day, especially since Low had mild dementia and had suffered a stroke in the past.

They made a police report and went searching for him.

A missing persons notice put up by police yielded no results, and on Sunday police officers embarked on a manhunt for him.

Police officers with police dogs scoured the forested area from 4pm yesterday to 4am today.

After a break, they resumed the search at 9am and finally found Low at around 12pm.

Low was sent semi-conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
