Warning letters for 5 workers who were responsible for the shutdown of the water supply at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 on January 29 this year.

They were performing piping works, and that caused brownish water to pour from taps at Terminal 3.

Sam Lain Equipment Services, the company responsible for the pipe diversion works, was fined S$9000 for engaging the 5 unlicensed workers to do the job.

The find was compounded, and Sam Lain wound up paying S$5000 for causing the shutdown in T3’s water supply, which only resumed a day later after water tanks were thoroughly cleaned.

The PUB says Sam Lain failed to adhere to procedures when carrying out the works.
