Police have arrested the man who robbed a Western Union branch in Ubi Avenue 1 on Tuesday (1 Aug).

The robber was nabbed on Thursday night (3 Aug) along Pasir Ris Drive 6 at 10.35pm.

Police found on him four 4D tickets, a red bicycle black shoes and dark blue trousers, and a green face masks.

No cash was found.

Investigations at this stage suggest the he spent almost all the money that he robbed, about S$4000, on 4D bets among other things (yeah, those tickets above are the real tickets found on him so if you’re feeling lucky…).

The cops are still trying to find the white helmet he donned and the knife he used when robbing the WU branch.

More than 130 police officers were involved in the manhunt.

They viewed CCTV footage from public and police cameras to establish his identity, and went door-to-door in the surrounding estate in a bid to apprehend him.

If convicted of armed robbery, the man can be jailed for up to 10 years and whipped at least 12 times with the rotan.
