A young man and woman have been accused of going around the Giant supermarket in Tampines and begging for money.

They’re said to be flashing the public with a chart full of words, then asking for donations of S$10.

Problem is, the chart is allegedly not a permit that allows them to collect money.

Said netizen Emiily Lin: “Couple went round at Giant Tampines asking for $10.00 each donation by holding a chart full of words , NO PERMITS given !”

In Singapore, one needs a valid licence to collect money from the public.

This applies too, to buskers and tissue aunties, who need a licence to ply their trade and receive donations.
