Zika Infections Spread Across Singapore, Bishan Marked as New Potential Cluster

The total number of Zika infections has risen to 275, after 17 new cases were confirmed yesterday.

Two of the latest identified cases are at Bishan St 12, making this area new potential new cluster.

The MOH and NEA say vector control operations will be carried out there.

Vector control operations and outreach efforts are continuing in Aljunied Crescent/Sims Drive/Paya Lebar Way/Kallang Way clusters, which is where the first locally transmitted case of the Zika virus was identified.

The operations have since been expanded to Circuit Road, Geylang East Central and Geylang East Avenue 1.

Other areas with Zika infections include Bedok North, Tampines, Yishun, Punggol, Joo Seng, and the Tagore vicinity.
