NUS Student Killed after Car Smashes into the Taxi She was Travelling In


A 19-year-old National University of Singapore undergrad was killed after the Premier taxi she was travelling in with 3 other NUS students crashed into a car last night (19 Apr).

The incident took place at about 7.30pm at the junction of Clementi Road and Commonwealth Avenue West.

The impact of the crash threw her partially out of the taxi window.

She died from her injuries despite being rushed to National University Hospital for treatment.

Another 3 taxi passengers – all NUS students – and 2 drivers were sent to hospital.

NUS said that 1 student remains seriously injured, while another 2 are in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
