An 88-year-old cleaner at Changi Airport has contracted the Covid-19 virus despite being fully-vaccinated.
The cleaner, a male Singaporean employed by Ramky Cleantech Services, was working at Changi Airport Terminal 3.
He developed a runny nose and cough on 4 May and went to clinic, where he was tested positive.
He was then sent to Sengkang General Hospital.
The cleaner received his first Covid-19 vaccine in January, and the second dose in February.
The incident has raised concerns among the public.
Some have questioned why the cleaner could contract the virus despite already being fully-vaccinated.
Many others have wondered why the cleaner is not able to retire and has to continue working menial jobs at the age of 88.
