PAP in self destructive mode again. Seriously, which is more relevant to the Singapore context? Thaipusam or St Patrick’s Day?
Right Hook Communications Pte Ltd has been appointed as the official PR agency for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival! which will take place from the 13th to 15th of March 2015 .
It will be a foot procession of merrymaking involving , bands, drums, singing and marching.
According to the organisers ( from 2014 ), the Singapore’s St Patrick’s Day event is the largest celebration in Southeast Asia, and visitors can expect to see all things Irish, including traditional and contemporary Irish MUSIC, DANCE and STREET PERFORMERS.
From my research on the internet, this involves the use of drums, musical instruments etc…. not very different from thaipusam.
Oh, and pls note that the roads were closed to traffic for st patricks day.
Why the double standards ?

Totally agree with the report. Plus the closure is to ensure getting drunk in a safe environment. For the Hindu devotees only 2 lanes are closed for their procession. Its so sad to see Irish Culture is more relevant then Thaipusam in singapore.
