So the debate has ended, and all MPs present today voted ‘Yes’ towards MND’s call on town councils to have high standards.
So all is hunky dory, and we can all move on to celebrate Valentine’s Day right?
Sorry, but NO.
No doubt the WeePees and their fans would pet themselves on the back in honest belief that they have defended their honour, and made the PAPpies look bad. I mean, Low Thia Khiang even got up and yelled at the Prime Minister! Surely that must take balls of steel.
The same balls of steel that Pritam Singh called upon, when he told Shanmugam that he doesn’t need to answer to the parliament.
But have the WeePees really answered the questions? Shanmugam asked them very simple questions. Did Sylvia Lim, Low Thia Khiang and the entire WeePees 3-in-1 town council know that their own friends, owners of FMSS, were authorising and issuing payments to themselves? Do they even know how much money has gone to FMSS?
Sadly, these questions were not answered. The WeePees instead decided to raise irrelevant points, and called themselves inexperienced victims.
I guess the first world parliament they championed called for first world excuses too.
For the sake of my friends in that area, I honestly hope that the WeePees can get their act together, admit their mistakes and fix them.
Otherwise, it’s only a matter of time before the Aljunied, Hougang and Punggol East towns run out of sand for them to hide their heads in.
