Ang Mo Kio Residents Get Dr Koh Poh Koon, a Kwek and that Pyramid Game Guy

Ang Mo Kio remains one of two 6-member GRCs, and helmed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

But the PM might have much work to do in the constituency of 187,652 voters.

Already, one MP has retired from his post – Mr Inderjit Singh aka Maverick Singh.

Two more look likely to follow suit – Mr Seng Han Thong and Mr Yeo Guat Kwang.

Possibly replacing them are:

(1) Dr Koh Poh Koon, a surgeon who first entered politics in 2013, when he lost to the WP’s Lee Li Lian in Punggol East SMC. A by-election had been called following the bad behaviour of Punggol East SMC MP and Speaker of Parliament Michael Palmer, who was exposed for having an affair with one of his staff.

(by the way, try spotting who Dr Koh Poh Koon is waving to in this video during a walkabout in Punggol East back in 2013!)

(2) Darryl David, best known as the host of the Pyramid Game, though he has done much TV presenting work for sports channels. He’s now the deputy director of Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design.

(3) Henry Kwek, the executive director of food-supply company, Foodtraco. Mr Kwek was previously a branch secretary for Chong Pang serving Law and Foreign Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam.

If fielded, they will form the 6-man PAP team, together with PM Lee, Mr Ang Hin Kee and Dr Intan Azura Mokhtar.

Can this team fend off the Reform Party, which has been walking the ground in Ang Mo Kio GRC and has openly stated its intention to contest the constituency to give the PM a run for his money?
