Following the latest round of price hikes affecting constituents and businesses in all PAP-run town councils, a Tampines stallholder has put up signs slamming the PAP.
Three different signs were seen at the stall, with phrases on them such as “I can’t make a living in your constituency”, and “You make life very miserable and full of nightmares”.
On 1 June this year, Service and Conservancy Charges (S&CC) were further raised for all PAP town councils.
Market stallholders and hawkers saw S&CC go up by an extra S$2.50 to S$17.50 per month.
This is on top of the extra S$2.70 to S$23.00 per month increase on 1 June 2017.
HDB-dwellers also saw their S&CC rise by up to S$9 per month.
In addition to this, water prices were hiked by 30 percent following Budget 2017, despite the government claiming a month before the last General Election in 2015 that there was no need for an increase in water prices.
