The Progress Singapore Party has appointed Leong Mun Wai as its new secretary-general.
The PSP Non-Constituency Member of Parliament replaces Francis Yuen, who announced that he was leaving the post due to work commitments.
Party founder Dr Tan Cheng Bock will continue to serve as chairman, while NCMP Hazel Poa has been bumped up to vice-chairman.
In a Facebook post, Yuen said:
“My warmest congratulations to the newly elected office bearers in the CEC. I am particularly heartened that both Mun Wai and Hazel will take on added responsibilities as Secretary General and Vice Chairman respectively.
Mun Wai takes over the leadership and will spearhead PSP’s drive towards being a Party of Choice. Hazel will be a great asset to Dr Tan assisting him as he continues as Chairman of the Party.”
West Coast GRC candidate Nadarajah Loganathan has been appointed as first assistant sec-gen, while Marymount candidate Dr Ang Yong Guan has been appointed second assistant sec-gen.
