Marcus Loh has been appointed by the PAP as new branch chair for PAP Sengkang East division.
From 1 Nov, Loh will replace Ling WeiHong, who has been “redeployed”.
40-year-old Loh is currently director and head of strategic communication, public affairs and corporate marketing for digital transformation firm Temus.
Temus is a start-up majority-owned by Temasek Holdings.
Aside from Loh, other more prominent PAP members from the Temasek product line who went on to become full-fleged candidates include former Director of Investment Groups Sun Xueling and Joan Pereira, former assistant general manager at Temasek Cares.
In 2019, Loh was elected president of the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore
He sits on the Industry Advisory Committee at the Singapore University of Social Sciences’ School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences, as well as the Singapore Management University Alumni Philanthropy Council.
Loh has been a PAP activist since 2015.
With his latest Sengkang appointment, he joins former Senior Minister of State Lam Pin Min, and other PAP new faces Associate Professor Elmie Nekmat and Theodora Lai Xi Yi.
Lam was part of the PAP’s losing team in Sengkang GRC in the 2020 General Election.
