Ng Kok Song, Tan Kin Lian and Tharman Shanmugaratnam have been cleared to run in the 2023 Presidential Elections.
This was announced today by the Returning Officer Tan Meng Dui at 12.40pm today.
Now that the 3 have been officially announced as candidates, they must contest or forfeit their election deposits of S$40,500 each.
Campaigning begins today and ends on 30 Aug.
Cooling-Off day is slated for 31 Aug, and Polling Day on Fri 1 Sept.
1 Sept will be a public holiday.
The Manpower Ministry has reminded employers that if an employee is required to work on a public holiday, the employee is entitled to an extra day’s salary for the day’s work, or should be given a day off.
