PAP-endorsed candidate Tharman Shanmugaratnam has been elected as president, after winning 70 percent of the popular vote.
He said that he is humbled to receive the support of so many Singaporeans.
Coming in second is former GIC chief investment officer Ng Kok Song, with 15.4 percent of the vote.
Former NTUC Income chief Tan Kin Lian came in third with 13.9 percent of the vote.
Tharman, former senior minister, was widely-tipped to win by a big margin.
He replaces outgoing president Halimah Yacob.
