GLX: On 19/4, a water park in Hanoi, Vietnam called ‘Ho Tay’ opened for free admission from 8AM-10AM (GMT+7). The chaos was terrifying, when the staff decided to close the gate due to overcrowded. Many people tried to climb over the fences to get in.
However, that was the least of the problem.
Inside, at the lazy river area, around 70 to 80 guys (even men who already had wives and kids) went together in groups. Whenever they saw girls, they started attack them by splashing water and WORST part was, they pushed her head down, DROWNING her and at the same time, RIPPED OFF HER BIKINI and started MOLESTED her. Some girls fainted and despite all the crying and screaming for help from friends, the group of animals won’t stop. They even PULL girls standing near the river down and started doing all those nasty things. AT LEAST, 20 girls were being sexually assaulted.
There was a girl with her bikini torn apart and all the guys surrounding her, cat calling:
The victims after they went home had anonymously leave confessions. Here are some of the confessions:
#1: We were holding onto the swim ring at the lazy river for about 3 minutes. Then we heard a commotion at the back, as we turned around we saw hundreds of boys crowded the whole river, screaming and going towards the three of us. I was shock and choked on water, many arms pushed my head down. I felt my breast and my private area being grab and pull and scratch very painful, my butt was groped too. My bikini top was pull up to my neck and the bottom was pull till my knee. Even though i was choking, but i felt clearly someone was fingering me, my legs was spread apart. My head was still pressed down, I was out of breath and I thought I was going to drown. The water go up my nose to my brain, my throat. Those arms scratch and pull me up, my head hit the coping. Then there was people grab my hair, my arm to pull out of the swimming pool. I was coughing really hard so I didn’t even realize I was completely naked…
#2: I was swimming in the lazy river with my friends. Behind us, all the boys kept splashing water like crazy, we were so freak out that all of us decided to go out of the river. As we just got out, one of my friend, who were still near the river, were pulled down and dragged to the centre of the river and was being splashed water and her head was pressed down. We saw our friend being surrounded by bunches of guys, we kept crying and called out: please help my friend, someone please help my friend. Around us, people kept on using phone to record and laugh like they were at the circus.
#3: My sister went with her friends. When they came back, they were crying their eyes out. Their necks, shoulders and thighs are full of scratches and bruises.
#4: It was too crowded so my boyfriend and I just played near the swimming pool coping. Suddenly I saw on my boyfriend head some milky fluid, when I touched, it was slippery and a bit thick. I dragged my boyfriend out of the pool immediately and asked him to wash his hair and we went home right after. Those animals masturbated in the swimming pool.
The facebook of the guy who started all these nasty thing had been tracked down.
And many other guys went home and updated their facebook status about their “achievements” at the water park like how many boobs they had grabbed or how many girls they’d molested on that day.
However, the Vice Managing Director of the water park said that “There was NO such thing as sexually assaulted at the water park, it’s just their bikini quality” regarding about the girls who had their bikini ripped.
Those guys are currently trying to take down photos of themselves and facebook statuses that they’ve updated. But luckily, all of those have been screencapped. Most of their identities are revealed and all over the internet.
Even worse, when all the news are up, the comments make me sick to my stomach, many of them said that it’s THE GIRLS FAULT for wearing bikini.
LIKE HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DRESS TO GO TO WATER PARK? ARMOR?
THOSE ANIMALS THOUGHT THEY’RE GOING TO GET AWAY WITH IT AND APPARENTLY AT THIS RATE, THEY WILL.

UPDATE: A professional psychologist with a Master’s Degree of Education said: “It’s THE GIRLS’ FAULT for not knowing how to protect themselves.”
He said “First thing first about this issue, the one who should be BLAMED THE MOST ARE THE GIRLS, in the environment where people are naked 80% or more, the action (referring to molestation and rape) is inevitable.”
He also mentioned that it’s the environment that can cause someone to lose their control over excitement and that’s why the girls should know how to protect themselves, like if you want to protect your valuables, for example, motorbike, then you should locked it carefully etc.

How does this “more credible” report deny that women and girls were sexually assaulted?
That the park was overcrowded and people were doing whatever they could to get in contributed to the problem, but it certainly doesn’t rule out that these assaults happened, it supports the contention that the water areas could not be properly monitored and that the patrons were not safe.

I’m sure it was tramatic for those girls, and a sad expression of our times… but honestly, I am not so sure people can expect different. With a world filling up to ‘reasonable’ capacity, the appreciation for personal space and for personal rights will continue to decay.

For those of you who are saying this is hard to believe, why is it? It’s far more likely for sexual assault to happen in a situation like this (and for the media to cover it – which saddens me a lot since I am journalism major) than for someone to make the whole thing up. It happens every day on the subway and the streets, why wouldn’t it happen on an overcrowded water park? 1 in every 5 women will be molested and you are telling me that this didn’t happen in this crazy crowded situation? I don’t doubt it for even a second. Men are raised to think of women as deposits of sperm, it’s centuries of socialization, that’s so deep-seated in most cultures that people have naturalized it as being normal behavior. This HAS to change. Where there is a woman saying she was molested I will believe her and do all I can to help! Well, this incident was hot in my country several month ago. And yes, there was a crown of man messing up around the Lazy River. There was report about sexual assauting too. Goverment put there hand on the incident but there was no one standing out to testify those information.

It scares me to be a 16 year old female. See, girls are just as attracted to mens bodies as men are to a female’s body, but according to this report, no woman pulled down a man’s swimming trunks and violated his privacy and wrecked his self esteem etc. As much as this story sickens me – the bit I hate the most is the professional psychologist’s say – how dare he use a metaphor such as ‘locking up a motorbike’ to describe the female gender. Im not condoning what happened, and i think this is awful.. But the article is extremely vague and doesn’t even name/source any comments. Even the ‘master degree of education’ wasn’t named or specified where he said those things.. Im not going to believe everything without actual proof otherwise we’d all be sheep believing everything that is posted on the internet

Disgusting! Unless these women / girls stand up they will continue to be victimized, I’m sure in a society of inequality towards woman it is not an easy thing for them to do.
A woman’s voice is usually silenced by others through fear, my step son once hit his mother in anger, so to educate him and my daughter I put the fear of God in him in front of my daughter. As a father I need to raise my children to not treat people like this, to speak out and to listen / support them!
It’s quite unfortunate and disgusting that a government condones this type of behavior, the victims own father’s who is supposed to protect them probably act in this manner as well. This is a problem since there is little to no support from men in their country.
To those who think the victims are at fault for what they are wearing or think they are asking for it by wearing certain clothing you are as guilty as the men who raped those poor girls.

If justice isn’t given to the victims, I see no reason why that country deserves women and they should seek asylum elsewhere because their country is a sinking ship.

I remember in early highschool (year 7-9) I went to just a casual swimming pool in Saigon. I was wearing a halter neck two piece bathers and I could feel the stares from everyone. I asked my cousin whose from Vietnam, what was wrong and he told me that its weird for me to wear something so revealing, it is bound to get all the looks.
I found it so weird because i wasn’t even wearing a bikini, i was covered from color bone down but it was still seen as provocative and I was “asking for it”.

Let me discuss it complexly… First of all right, Asian male People are so immoral, egoist, foot-brain (even if u open their foot you’ll not find the brain) and so like animal. Ethically males are wrong well that’s unethical in all way you see it.. But girls you guys have a choice wether you guys want to swim at that crowded place or not, i’m sure you didn’t think long enough about the consequences to swim at that place. And you still swim despite all the risks… Maturely that’s your consequences of your risk you have taken for free fun swimming.

So I’m not racist but on many occasions in NYC late at night drunk with girl friends I’ve had them molested by south east Asians Indians Mexicans and Latin American immigrants/visiters. These cultures think it’s ok to take advantage of women who can not protect themselves. I’ve put well over a dozen guys in the hospital for sticking their fingers inside girls who are passed out waiting for the subway. This isn’t something has happened a couple times this happens all the time. I have to be very vigilant if I’m with a girl who is too drunk to stay awake. Abs these fucks don’t see anything wrong with it. I’ll punch one in the mouth and he’ll say “why do you do that? ” then I’ll put him in the hospital. This is absurd ! In a Muslim country like Saudi Arabia, a woman is punished for being raped if she left her home without a male family member. That’s right, Men are not responsible for controlling themselves in those countries, that is why women must be covered from head to toe. In Europe, there are many nude beaches, you don’t read about molestation and rapes happening in Greece, Germany or France ! i been reading most of the comments and the topic is being push back and forward, it’s just so funny that the government wasn’t able to find a solution to a simple problem. the government, the males in the pool, and the owner of the pool doesn’t want to take responsibility for the fault. Then government should make stupid law. Since the males are not able to take full responsibility for their SEXUAL DESIRE then we’ll pass this law: males from the day of birth should not see, meet, or talk to any female until the age of 20.
