A whole slew of criminal charges are piling up against Reform Party Chairman Charles Yeo.
Yeo, who has just stepped down as chairman of the party after his arrest, has denied the charges and claimed they are politically-motivated.
Last week, Yeo was arrested for alleged involvement in criminal breach of trust, and forgery.
This came after 4 different clients of his law firm Whitefield Law Corporation filed police reports.
This week, police again charged Yeo for wounding the religious feelings of the Christian community.
The charges involve remarks he made on his Instagram and Facebook pages.
He has also been charged for making abusive communication towards a police officer.
Yeo came to fame on the back of the 2020 General Election as a Reform Party candidate for Ang Mo Kio GRC.
He had to stand in for a team-mate during a televised speech and deliver the speech in Mandarin – a language which he is not particularly strong in.
Through sheer improvisation, luck and guts, Yeo managed to coin one of the most iconic phrases of the election, and even received praise from the Prime Minister’s wife, Ho Ching.
Nevertheless, the Reform Party managed to capture just 28 percent of the vote in Ang Mo Kio GRC that year.
