Scammers also Impersonating DBS to Con Bank Customers

OCBC has made headlines recently after over 400 customers lost money to scammers.

But the bank is not alone – scammers appear to be using the same trick to impersonate Singapore’s largest bank, DBS.

There have been reports of scammers sending SMSes under the bank’s official header.

Bank customers are told that there is a problem with their account, and they need to click on a link to a website to fix the problem.

On the website, customers are asked to key in sensitive personal data and passwords.

These details are then used by scammers to access their bank accounts and make away with their money.

More than 400 OCBC customers lost collectively over S$8 mil to scammers in the most prolific attack on a bank in Singapore in recent times.

OCBC has said that it will make full goodwill payouts to victims.
