Silver-Haired Pioneers Soldier On to Give Lee Kuan Yew His Final Sendoff

Thousands lined the roads for their final send-off to Singapore’s first prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew.

Amongst them, many silver-haired members of our pioneer generation.

They shivered under the heavy downpour, many tearing as Mr Lee’s casket emerged from Parliament House.

Still, they soldiered on in the cold.

Amongst them, another Lion of Singapore, Mr Chiam See Tong.

Mr Lee’s body has been moved to the NUS Cultural Centre for the funeral procession.

It will then be moved to Mandai Crematorium and Columbarium, where Mr Lee will be cremated in a private ceremony.
