Ten diners developed gastroenterities, or diarrhoea, after eating the The Line Restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel.
Two of them were hospitalised.
The incident took place on 26 Dec 2022.
Last Friday (8 Sep), the Singapore Food Agency announced that the restaurant’s food hygiene grae as been downgraded from an “A” to a “C”.
Said the SFA in a statement:
“A joint investigation by the Ministry of Health and the Singapore Food Agency was conducted following the incident. No hygiene lapses were identified during the inspection of the food shop on 30 December 2022. However, SFA will be taking enforcement action against the licensee for selling unclean food.”
The grading will last for one year, after which it will be reviewed.
The Line restaurant is known for its buffets, for which prices can range from S$68++ to S$108++ an adult.
