It’s not clear she’s doing it out of desperation or as a hobby, but this Ah Ma Cheat seems to like scamming stallholders with her “drop coin” tricks.
Or maybe she just watched too many God of Gamblers movies from years past.
The first time Ah Ma Cheat was caught in the act was at a wert market in Pasir Ris Drive 6 on 18 Nov last year.
Then, she was caught on camera dropping some money, then telling the stallholder that she was given wrong change – short of S$10.
In this latest incident, which took place on 27 Dec last year at Whampoa Market, Ah Ma Cheat waves a S$50 note, saying she wants to but fish.
Then, when the stallholder packs and hands over the fish and asks for payment, Ah Ma Cheat folds her S$50 note, gives that “huh you kong simi look” and insists she has already paid.
Following a short argument, the stallholder then goes to the till and gives Ah Ma Cheat S$40 – the changes she would have received if she had used the S$50 note to pay for the fish.
What the fish! That’s free fish plus fee 40 bucks in one morning!
Stallholders be warned.
