An Anchorvale resident is on trial for allegedly beating up her maid on several occasions, and in the most gruesome one, forcing her maid to smash her own teeth in with a meat-tenderiser mallet.
40-year-old Wen Shao Yang is facing 7 charges for alleged abuse of her maid, including charges of voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
The court hear today that Mdm Wen, on 4 Feb this year, punched her maid in the face and thereafter forced her to use a mallet and hammer her teeth 50 times.
Mdm Wen then allegedly use her hands to part the maid’s lips and continued to smash her teeth with the mallet.
The beating caused her teeth to crack and drop.
That incident is the most recent of the alleged string of physically abuse that Mdm Wen rained down on her maid.
Over a period of 9 months, Mdm Wen is accused of punching her maid in the head and face on several occasions, causing her face to bruise and swell.
Trial will continue on 23 May.
