Former NMP Calvin Cheng has hit back at Singaporeans who were offended by vicious comments posted on Facebook by Edz Ello, a Filipino radiographer working at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Cheng defended Edz Ello’s actions in posting the comments, saying that only “losers get offended when people call them losers”. Cheng also said he’s sick of people being so sensitive to inflammatory comments about Singapore made by foreigners living in Singapore. Here’s what he posted on Facebook.
Tan Tock Seng Hospital has said that it is looking in to the incident. The hospital is saying for now that Edz Ello’s Facebook account was hacked. Edz Ello had declared earlier that he had no idea his Facebook had been hacked for the past 5 months, and that he didn’t post the anti-Singaporean comments.
Tan Tock Seng Hospital has been in the news recently for firing Singaporean social activist Roy Ngerng, saying that Roy’s conduct was “incompatible with the values and standards expected of employees”. Supposedly, that’s because of his involvement in several Return Our CPF protests at Hong Lim Park.
