Have Singaporeans gone bonkers over the Pokemon Go craze?

Last night at about 10.25pm, a car filled with Pokemon Go players caused an accident at Mei Ling street because the driver and passengers were too obsessed with “catching” their little virtual reality animals.

Said eyewitness Wang Han Wei:

“I went downstairs to play Pokemon Go and saw a dark-coloured a car travelling at a snail’s pace. The car inched forward and stop, then inched forward and stopped.”

That’s when he spotted that the 3 people in the car were engrossed with playing Pokemon Go.

There was the 50-year-old man who was driving the car, a lady seated next to him who also appeared to be around 50-years-old, and a young lady of about 20 seated in the back seat.

Han Wei carried on looking for his Pokemon to catch, when he heard the sound of a crash about 5 minutes later.

A white-coloured car has mounted the pavement and smashed into a railing.

The white car had reportedly tried to overtake the car full of pokemon catchers.

But the driver ran into a problem – Mei Ling street is a one-lane road.

The driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

Apparently, the car of Pokemon Go enthusiasts noticed that and the driver sped off, said Han Wei.

No one was injured in the accident.
