Cracks formed across two lanes of Adam Road this morning, bringing traffic to a standstill.
The huge traffic jam stretched all the way to Bartley Road.
Besides cracks, depressions were also seen in parts of the road.
The cracks, which formed near the construction site of the Bukit Brown road, were reportedly caused by underground soil movement related to the construction works.
The Land Transport Authority said that it discovered the cracks at about 8am, and sealed off 2 lanes of the 4-lane road.
The lanes were re-opened for use at 10am and the LTA says the road is “safe to use”.
