A hundred dollar bill to pay for two bottles of mineral water – now that’s one way to wash money!
That payment didn’t raise any suspicion of the cashier on duty at the Fong Seng Nasi Lemak outlet in Pasir Panjang.
It was only at the end of the night that the cashier discovered the fake S$100 note when counting the day’s takings.
The store’s CCTV camera footage revealed the culprit – a dark-skinned lady in her 30s whose black hair was dyed with gold streaks and was wearing a green blouse and black trousers.
The cashier believes she is a foreigner.
The incident happened last Wednesday (4 Nov) at about 9pm.
Police investigations are underway.
A sign describing the lady scammer has been pasted at the store, and anyone who recognises her has been encouraged to step forward with information.
