Former National Solidarity Party Chief Goh Meng Seng has announced his decision to contest in the next Singapore General Election.
He said it’s a DEFINITE yes, after receiving clearance from his home affairs minister, aka the wife, in this posting on Facebook:
“For many friends who are very concerned about my political path ahead and keep asking me this question:
Are you coming back to politics to contest in coming GE?
At this stage, I can give a definite answer to all of you, with the blessings of my wife, YES, I will be back in politics to contest in the coming GE.
Will I form my own party or join any party?
I have not made up my mind yet but you will know very soon, once I do.”
Mr Goh had led a team to contest in Tampines GRC in the 2011 General Election, and won 42.78% of the vote against the incumbent, Mah bow Tan.
He stepped down following the election to take a breather.
The political veteran also ran for election in 2006, this time under the Workers’ Party banner in Aljunied GRC. That team won 43.9% of the votes.
