For that lofty sum of money, retirees at St Bernadette Lifestyle Village in Bukit Timah get to enjoy their own room with an attached bathroom that is wheelchair accessible, a shared a living room which has a sofa and television and a dining area with a small kitchenette, and a 24-hour medical concierge at the press of a button.
Oh yes, and they can invite their friends over for a barbeque or to play mahjong too .
The old folks’ home, a single-storey bungalow, can take up to 8 residents.
It’ll be opening for business next month, and the government will offer subsidies of 10 to 75 percent of the fees.
