A one-stop hub to groom entrepreneurs and start-ups in Singapore is expected to open its doors in January 2015.
Located at one-north, LaunchPad aims to connect people with business ideas with the support they need to build a successful company. More of such facilities may spring up in time should the initiative gain traction.
Non-profit organisation Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with industrial estate manager JTC Corporation to lease space in one-north for entrepreneurship-grooming programmes.
LaunchPad@one-north aims to be an integrated platform for enterprising individuals, start-ups and young companies to bounce ideas off each other and network with potential investors. It will let entrepreneurs take up space to begin a business and mentor them along the road to success.
The idea is not just to guide entrepreneurs along in making their ideas work, but to connect them with practical support a business may need, including banking, legal or accounting services.
An International Advisory Panel of business leaders will also be set up to guide ACE’s efforts along.
