An email from current government Chief of Communications, Janadas Devan, has surfaced in the latest Leekileaks by Dr Lee Wei Ling.
The email is a reply from Mr Janadas to Dr Lee in 2011 stating that her father Lee Kuan Yew was in “good form” when he demanded the demolition of his 38 Oxley Road house.
Mr Janadas, who is now also serving as the Deputy Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, was at that time an editor with the Straits Times.
He was interviewing LKY for an “Oxley book”, and said that “It is obvious that this is what he wants”.
Mr Janadas added that “It will be a small minded people that denies him this personal wish”.
Lee Hsien Yang and Dr Lee have demanded that the government commit to the demolition of 38 Oxley Road, saying they plan to fulfil LKY’s wishes as stated in his final will.
However, this has met with opposition by the government and their elder brother, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
As a result, a public spat has ensued between the Lee siblings and the government, with parliamentarians such as Senior Minister of State Indranee Rajah and former prime minister Goh Chok Tong adding their two cents worth to the debate.
A ministerial committee has been set up to explore options regarding the house.
What is more shocking is the allegations by the 2 younger Lee siblings that Big Bro cannot be trusted as he has abused his power and allowed his wife Ho Ching to have undue influence over the civil service.
PM Lee has denied the allegations and apologised for the public bust up with his siblings.
He says he will address questions when parliament convenes on 3 July.
